Comparatively ancient history. Amongst the natural broad expanses within the Warsaw area, the Wawerskie Zakole - the remnant of a great meander of the Vistula within the area of a flood terrace - is particularly distinct. Till this day, this area has remained swampy and grown over with broad cane fields and constitutes an unusually valuable area for a possible geological/nature park.
