A biological reactor was put into operation last year in the South Sewage Treatment Plant. The sewage treatment plant was started up in 2005, but on account of the complicated process of biological treatment and the time necessary for stabilizing the active sediment - the raising of active protozoan bacteria - the pumping of treated sewage into the Vistula (near the Sapper's monument) will begin towards the end of June 2006.
