A phenomenon of Warsaw courtyards and of the Polish mentality - small shrines. They stand at the centre of old courtyards, hang from trees, hide in the niches and oriels of buildings. Even today, particularly on May days, we find local inhabitants gathered in front of these shrines in common prayer. On the photo: a courtyard shrine with figure.
